Job Summary: 

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts equipped with both clamp attachments and standard forks to handle large paper rolls as well as regular palletized shipments. This role supports production, warehousing, and shipping operations by ensuring materials are moved efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with all safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Follows the Company Safety Programs and Policies
  • Operate a forklift with a clamp attachment to move, load, unload, and stack paper rolls safely and efficiently.
  • Handle regular palletized shipments using forklift forks, ensuring accurate staging and transport.
  • Transport materials between storage, production, and shipping areas as required.
  • Inspect forklifts and attachments daily; report maintenance or safety issues promptly.
  • Ensure proper handling techniques to prevent damage to paper rolls, pallets, and other materials.
  • Assist with receiving shipments, verifying counts, and checking material quality.
  • Stage and organize paper rolls and pallets according to production schedules and inventory requirements.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and operational procedures when operating equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work and storage areas.
  • Complete required paperwork or system entries for material movements and inventory tracking.
  • Support production, and shipping team with material handling needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the Operations & Manufacturing Director and overall plant operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Forklift experience required; experience with clamp attachments strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience handling paper rolls and palletized materials a plus.
  • Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork and communication.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
