We are searching for a 2nd shift CNC Machinist with a minimum of 3 years’ experience preferably operating Mazak CNC machines. The 2nd shift CNC Machinist will set-up and operate MAZAK CNC machines to produce parts according to blueprints, specifications and manufacturing orders.

The core hours for 2nd shift are 6 pm – 3 am Monday – Thursday and 3 pm – 8 pm on Fridays.

What You Will Do:

  • Program, set-up and operate Mazak CNC machines to produce parts according to blueprints, specifications, manufacturing orders and work instructions
  • Create programs for 3/4/5 axis machines using CAM software based on customer supplied CAD drawings. Some Conversational Programming
  • Previous experience programming Mazak CNC’s is preferred, but all CNC machinists will be trained to become CNC programmers.
  • Responsible for monitoring the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
  • Maintains correct dimensions of parts while running jobs using measuring instruments
  • Maintains correct dimensions of parts while running the job using measuring instruments such as micrometers, comparators, calipers, and gauges. Verifies the conformity of parts to blueprints/specifications during and/or after the run.

 

What You Will Bring:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience. Associate’s degree, Vocational training, basic machining classes 101 & 102, or equivalent in machine tool or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience running CNC machines, preferably Mazak machines
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to use mathematical skills including knowledge of the metric system
  • Basic mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand the design of a machine and its functionalities
