Location: Aurora, Illinois
Department: Machine Shop/Operations
Reports to: Team Lead, Machine Shop
Job Type: Full-Time (8 hours/day, Monday–Friday)
Shift: 1st Shift

 

Position Summary:
Set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools to produce, modify, or repair precision components. Apply knowledge of mechanics, math, metal properties, and machining practices to meet exact specifications.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC/manual lathes, mills, and grinders to produce parts to specification
  • Set up, adjust, and maintain machine tools and equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T
  • Inspect finished parts using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers)
  • Monitor feed rates, spindle speeds, and overall machining quality
  • Program CNC equipment and resolve tool or process issues
  • Assemble and finish machined parts as required
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams
  • Maintain equipment and follow safety protocols
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Vocational training or certification preferred
  • 5–10 years of experience with CNC/manual machining and programming
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
  • Solid math skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Comfortable working with small, delicate components
  • Basic English communication skills required
