CAD Draftsman

We’re seeking a skilled CAD draftsman to join our team at International Valve. As a CAD draftsman, you will prepare detailed technical drawings and plans for various projects. You will work closely with the engineer to ensure that all specifications and designs adhere to industry standards. Objectives of the role:

• Developing detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings, designs, and models for various engineering design projects.
• Modifying existing drawings and plans as needed to accommodate changes in design or scope.
• Conducting quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintaining updated and organized records of all design files, revisions, and project documentation systematically.

Your tasks:

• Create precise technical drawings using SolidWorks.
• Convert hand sketches and verbal instructions into accurate CAD drawings.
• Prepare layouts, detailed drawings, and assembly diagrams for construction or manufacturing.
• Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes or modifications requested by the engineering team.
• Review designs for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.
• Assist in preparing documentation and reports related to project designs and materials.
• Prepare bills of materials based on drawings.
• Assist with the development of design standards and procedures.
• Coordinate with project managers and team to ensure timely completion of drafts.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in CAD technology and design trends.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Drafting, or a related field or working towards.
• 1+ years of experience as a CAD Draftsman or in a similar drafting role.
• Proficiency in using CAD software, such as SolidWorks, Revit, or similar tools.
• Solid technical drawing skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good understanding of engineering design, construction, and architectural drafting principles.
• Ability to interpret and work with complex technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with different teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with 3D modelling and rendering techniques and visualization tools.
• Ability to manage several projects and coordinate with multiple teams simultaneously.

Preferred skills and qualifications:

• Drafting experience in industries such as engineering, architecture, and manufacturing.
• Relevant certification in CAD software or drafting techniques.
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and materials.
• Ability to create presentations and visual aids for project proposals.
• Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
