Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

The right candidate will have a high mechanical aptitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment applying principles of electrical engineering with skills in the following areas:

·        The ability to use SolidWorks/AutoCAD Electrical and be able to create full schematic packages, panel layouts and bill of materials adhering to relevant electrical codes and standards.

·        The ability to design and program PLCs such as B&R, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Automation Direct, Omron and Modicon and validate through thorough testing and debugging to ensure proper functionality and performance of the programmed features.

·        The ability to specify components to accommodate project requirements for both machines and automated equipment.

·        Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address any technical challenges and provide timely resolutions.

·        Manage engineering projects from concept to commissioning to final implementation.

·        Create comprehensive technical documentation, including operation manuals, specifications, and test reports.

·        Conduct functional tests, troubleshoot electrical issues, and optimize machine performance to achieve optimal efficiency and reliability.

·        Provide technical expertise to diagnose control problems for customers over the phone or remotely.

·        Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot and repair equipment and provide on-site commissioning of automation systems.

·        The ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and be courteous to customers and coworkers.

·        Provide regular progress reports to project managers, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and proposed solutions.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

·        Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or other applicable discipline, or equivalent experience/knowledge

·        1-3 years of experience with engineering software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.)

·        1-3 years of experience with PLC control systems, low voltage and associated electronics

·        1-3 years of experience with personnel and/or project management in a technical capacity

·        Skills with Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

·        Able to work efficiently in an office or shop/manufacturing environment

·        Able to use hand tools and electrical measuring devices

·        Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Skills

·        Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, industrial automation, and control systems.

·        Programming experience using VB Basic, VB.net, C++, Ladder, ANSI C and Structured Text.

·        Familiarity with NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 79, UL508A and IEC codes and standards

·        UL & CE requirements
